5 km Fun Run/Walk
Start time: 0700 HR
Please meet at the start/finish area by 06:45 for brief announcements. The start/finish area is just east of the Holiday Inn hotel grounds in the city park (see map below).
This is intended to be a fun event for participants and a great chance to get some exercise along the beautiful Columbia River. This is non-competitive – people of all abilities are encouraged to join and participate at your own pace. The event will not be timed, nor will there be any trophies (those who finish first will have the bragging rights alone).
The fun run/walk is an out-and-back path where participants will head north along the river to the halfway point where you will turn around and head back along the same trail. The start/finish line is directly across from the Holiday Inn hotel (see map). The trail is smooth, mostly paved, and nearly flat. There are public water fountains along the route. The weather can be warm and there is little shade on the route so prepare appropriately. We will have a water/drink station at the halfway, turnaround point as well as refreshments for all participants at the finish.
